Scoot Pte Ltd. (酷航 Kùháng) is a low-cost long-haul airline which was announced by parent company Singapore Airlines in May 2011. It was subsequently announced on 1 November 2011 that it will be named "Scoot". It is a budget carrier claiming it will offer tickets up to 40 percent cheaper than regular airlines, and planning to operate flights on medium and long-haul routes from Singapore, initially to Australia and China, using Boeing 777 aircraft.
