ATR72 operator FIREFLY received today in Singapore the 2010 Frost and Sullivan’s Asia Pacific Best Value Airline Award, which recognizes the strong development of the Malaysia Airlines’ subsidiary, both domestically and internationally, since its launch in 2007.
The airline currently operates exclusively a fleet of 7 ATR 72-500s, and has options for 3 additional aircraft.
FIREFLY’s expansion reached an important milestone in July 2009 with the opening of its operations at Changi Budget Terminal, Singapore from where it operates close to 50 flights a week with its ATR fleet. According to the success of these operations and the code-sharing with Malaysia Airlines, the number of flights and the size of the fleet are expected to grow.

The Airline: Vietjet Air

VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietnamese: Công ty Cổ phần Hàng không VietJet), trading as VietJet Air, is a low-cost airline in Vietnam. It was the first privately-owned airline to be established in Vietnam, being granted its initial approval to operate by the Vietnamese Minister of Finance in November 2007. As of its launch in December 2011, it became the second private airline to offer domestic service in Vietnam, as well as the fifth airline overall to offer civil domestic flights.

The carrier's launch was beset by long delays attributed to various causes, such as a global economic slowdown and regulatory issues. Although budget carrier AirAsia announced in February 2010 that it planned to purchase a 30% stake in the airline through a joint venture agreement, the carrier later rescinded its plans, citing "a failure to obtain Vietnamese regulatory approvals". Despite the setbacks, VietJet Air's first flight was operated on December 25, 2011, flying from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi. As of February 27, 2012, the carrier has operated 360 flights and carried over 40,000 passengers.

he airline has its head office on the fourth floor of Flower Mansion in Tay Ho, Hanoi, with a branch in Ho Chi Minh City on the ninth floor of the Hai Au Building, Tan Binh District. It was the first privately-owned airline to be established in Vietnam, and as of its launch in December 2011, it became the second private airline (after Air Mekong) to offer domestic service in Vietnam, as well as the fifth airline overall to offer civil domestic flights, after Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, Air Mekong and the Vietnam Air Service Company (VASCO). In its initial plan, the Hanoi-based airline stated its intention to offer flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, gradually expanding its network to include other Asian countries, such as Singapore, China, Thailand, Korea, and Japan. The airline appointed Brian Presbury as its Chief Executive Officer in May 2008.

Emirates Air Hostess: Suzanne Thunestveit

An old news about Emirates air hostess - Suzanne Thunestveit
[The Sun, 28 MAR 2011] - Peter Crouch was quizzed by security in ultra-strict Dubai after going back to an air hostess’s flats at 3am.

England striker Crouch, 30, signed in as a visitor at the plush Millennium Tower skyscraper when he arrived there with Suzanne Thunestveit, 22, following a boozy party.

But he left just ten minutes later after he was questioned by the head of security at the complex. Unmarried couples who breach the Arab state’s strict morality laws can be flogged or even jailed.

Crouch — whose fiancée Abbey Clancy gave birth to their daughter Sophia Ruby two weeks ago — was on a team-bonding break in Dubai with his club Spurs.

He and Norwegian Suzanne went to the Tower, which houses 1,000 Emirates airline staff, after a nightclub party in which he and team-mates spent £60,000 on drinks.

A British Emirates air stewardess told pals on Facebook she gave Crouch a dressing down after spotting him at the Tower and took a photo of him as evidence.
